D-Day for GDPR on 25 May 2018

What steps do you need to take to ensure your contract terms and conditions are GDPR-compliant?

The GDPR(1) is a regulation which modifies the rules applicable to the protection of privacy and harmonises them for all of the Member States of the European Union.

AG Insurance has always paid special attention to this issue to ensure the confidentiality and security of personal data and compliance with all laws and regulations.

As a result of the application of the GDPR, AG Insurance has transposed the new privacy protection rules to its privacy policy, its procedures and its systems.

AG Insurance has also appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO) whose mission is to carefully monitor compliance with the GDPR...

Addendum: what does this mean in practice?

AG Insurance recently sent all of its clients an addendum to update their contractual terms and conditions to comply with the new legislation.

As an employer, you were asked to sign the addendum and return it to us via electronic signature, email or post. It will be attached to your contract documents.

By completing this procedure, you will ensure your company's conformity with the new legislation. For its part, AG Insurance will have met its compliance obligations.

Other adjustments

In our previous correspondence, you were sent other documents that were modified in accordance with the GDPR and that should have been appended to your contract terms and conditions. There is no need for you to send these documents back to us. You can also download the documents here:

  • The new privacy clause in the general terms and conditions of your (group) insurance (only available in FR and NL)
  • The annex to your Ascento agreement – if applicable (only available in FR and NL)
  • The annex to your AG EB Online user agreement – if applicable (only available in FR and NL)
