Benefits Statements Issued in 2017

As an employer you are legally required to provide your staff members with an overview of their supplementary pension status and entitlements on 1 January of every year.

But did you also know that AG Employee Benefits will gladly fulfil this obligation for you?

In this case, your staff members will be given access to all their pension-related information online, including their benefits statements, via My Global Benefits.

They’ll also get an e-mail alert from us any time there is a change in their "pension status".

What if your company isn’t a My Global Benefits user?

Benefits statements are issued depending on the type of pension plan that has been set up at your company:

Are you a Classical Life or e-volulife plan sponsor with an annual recalculation date on 1 January?

If so, we will issue benefit statements reflecting plan participant status on 1 January, which is also the date the figures in the statements were calculated.
The data available on Mypension.be – the federal government’s pension website – is also based on the 1 January cutoff date.

Are you a Classical Life plan sponsor with an annual recalculation date other than 1 January?

In this case, your staff members will be getting two benefits statements from us:

  • a benefits statement that reflects their status on 1 January
    and
  • a benefits statement showing their entitlements based on the latest salary information in our systems, pay raises included

Both benefits statements will be sent out at the same time. For your convenience, the following template (1) contains additional information to help you explain why staff members will be getting two benefits statements. Feel free to post it on the company intranet or e-mail it to your staff members directly.

Are you an e-volulife plan sponsor with a recalculation date other than 1 January?

If so, then we will be issuing two benefits statements:

  • a first statement reflecting plan participant status on 1 January (sent out in February)
  • a second statement once the figures have been recalculated
